Wars and destruction in the Middle East, the consequences of the brutal attacks by American imperialism and the Zionist State of Israel against defenceless populations and industrial infrastructure, particularly in Iran, together with the conflicts in Russia and Ukraine, risk plunging millions of workers into unemployment and causing the deaths of thousands of them in the Middle East, the Gulf countries, Ukraine and Russia.

In Iran, a country devastated by war, the capitalist system of the Islamic Republic, in addition to its widespread political, legal and social crimes, the repression of the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement and the daily executions, does not recognise any independent workers’ organisation and continues to harass, arrest and torture its activists. During this period of aggressive war, the aforementioned crime has worsened. The dispatch, as every year, of fictitious workers’ representatives to the ILO Conference by the reactionary Islamic government constitutes a flagrant act of demagogy, violating the traditions and honour of the struggle of Iranian and global workers. In this deplorable context, the ILO recognises the representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and even entrusts them with important positions, such as that of “Mahjoub”, which demonstrates that the conventions of the “International Labour Organization” serve capitalist governments. The living conditions of Iranian workers are extremely precarious; they live daily below the poverty line.

Regarding the setting of the minimum wage, the “Council for Solidarity with the Workers’ Movement, Paris” does not recognise the tripartite system, because its decisions systematically tend to favour the power of capital and the bourgeoisie, which outweighs that of the Iranian capitalist system and differs from that of the conventional capitalist governments of the world. Indeed, with the alleged workers’ representatives of the Islamic Republic, the three parties act directly and without deviation in favour of capitalism, thereby keeping workers in extreme poverty.

On the eve of the 114th anniversary of the ILO Summit, we call upon all international trade unions to defend the interests of workers, to redouble pressure on the ILO’s policy, and to organise demonstrations and strikes in various countries against the brutal exploitation perpetrated by the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as against the military aggressions of aggressive and criminal states that victimise workers and aggravate unemployment.

Long live the international solidarity of workers!

5 June 2026

Council for Solidarity with the Workers’ Movement, Paris

Conseil.solid21@gmail.com

[1163
["post-73812","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","","category-1163
["GET
